Tucked in the hills of Cortona, under the ancient Etruscan walls that encircle this beautiful town, lies Villa del Rio, which is surrounded by olive groves, out of which the owners make an excellent extra virgin olive oil which you may taste. Villa del Rio is an old stone house which has been completely restored and turned into a beautiful villa by the owner maintaining the style, history and culture of the area. Of course all modern amenities are not missing. From the outdoor terrace you will have a breathtaking view over the Valdichiana and surrounding areas.
The property can easily accommodate up to 8 people and has been renovated with charming furnishings and modern comforts. The living area is made up of a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. Two living rooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor with soaring ceiling height, give the guests various possibilities to relax. The sleeping area comprises two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom with shower. The house is also equipped with air conditioning, central heating system, laundry, satellite TV and high speed wireless internet.
Outside Villa del Rio also has a spacious patio equipped with a trellis covering most of an outdoor, 70 square metre terrace, with a table seating 12 people, chairs and a small cooking nook. Here you will have breathtaking views over the Valdichiana. Just downhill about 25 metres, the 4 x 8 metre swimming pool is situated amongst the olive groves surrounding the Villa and is for exclusive use of the guests.
The Villa lies in a strategic position not far from the old Roman road from which you can enjoy splendid walks into the town of Cortona. Staying at Villa del Rio will be an unforgettable experience, characterized by peace, relaxation and privacy.
For larger groups this Villa can be rented along with Casina Giada which lies a short stroll of 180 meter away. This will accomodate a total of 16 guests.

We hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad, Casa del Rio is een heel gezellig, smaakvol ingericht en compleet huis met genoeg ruimte en privacy. We hebben genoten van het zwembad en het prachtige uitzicht. We hebben heerlijk gewandeld, de middeleeuwse stadjes bezocht en genoten van de Italiaanse keuken. E benissimo!! We komen zeker nog eens terug.
