The story of Villa Metella began in 1997 when the owners decided to purchase this old house, fascinated by its character and charm. In that period the property was a building of humble beginnings, yet enhanced by a rare peculiarity in this area: the façade characterised by wooden frames dating back to the French Era. This land was the scene of several battles of the Second Punic War between Romans and Carthaginians and witnessed the passage of Hannibal troops during the famous Trasimeno Battle. Those well-known periods left us a bunch of important archaeological traces that nature engulfed but left untouched. Thematic and trekking routes have been created to retrace the paths of the Trasimeno Battle through the 14 km of the Hannibal Course or the ancient paved path dating back to the Roman Age that leads to Monte Egidio. The villa has been wisely and expertly renovated, thanks to an egregious work that melted old and modern style, combining the magnificent historic originals with minimal, essential and simple elements: few precious or old items placed together with design elements.

Wisteria, furnished with meticulous attention to the smallest details and maintaining all the original elements that characterise the villa, is located on the second floor that can be reach through the elevator. The characteristic headboard is inspired by the layout of the old fireplace on the upper floor of the farmhouse. Rose is the most intimate room. Cozy and delightful, it is particularly suitable for a couple but also perfect for one person. This deluxe room, set on the first floor reachable through the elevator, has a surface of 18 square meters, enjoys enchanting natural light and features high ceilings with beams.
Violet is a large room with lovely view and double exposure: on one side it overlooks the pool terrace, to the East, while on the other you can see the wonderful access driveway, to the South. Carefully furnished with original elements that characterise the villa, this room is located on the first floor reachable through the elevator. Agapanthus is the biggest bedroom in the house. Furnished with quality materials, the suite is located on the second floor that can be reached through the elevator. Iris, a peaceful and beautiful corner, is the most exclusive bedroom in the villa, thanks to its private and furnished patio and the detached position from the main house.
